It was finally that time of year again, the JRC summer social. The rain was falling (of course) and the glad rags were on. So what do Civil and Structural Engineers do when they’re not hard at it? Educate themselves on the beautiful drink of gin of course. The team headed down to Plymouth Gin Distillery to begin the Connoisseur’s Tour, where our fantastic host guided us through the fascinating history of the building itself, and then talked us through the aromatic botanicals used to produce each gorgeous bottle of Plymouth Gin. After a few too many tasters, we shifted out for a few drinks on the cobbles and we danced the night away. Despite the persistent drizzle, much fun was had. There were very few pics to evidence the poor dancing, but luckily we managed to get one of the Directors in the naughty corner sampling Plymouth’s finest before all the mayhem began.
Back to work now, but there’s always the Christmas party to look forward to!
