Flood Risk Assessments
Flood risk assessment is a requirement of all planning applications for major developments and those proposed in areas that are at risk of flooding and have critical drainage problems. Flood risk assessments may also be required for sites in a low-risk flood zone where risk from another source is identified i.e. surface water run off. We undertake site specific flood risk assessments, for all types of developments, in all flood zones countrywide, in accordance with the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework and the detailed guidelines (CIRIA Report 624.)
We have extensive experience of the new National Planning Policy Framework and the superseded PPS25 throughout the UK and a proven track record of producing site specific assessments for all types of build from single units through to major residential, office, retail and industrial developments.
Highways and Drainage
Our team can carry out both fully compliant highway design packages for proposed adopted highways (S38 agreement) or alterations to existing adopted highways (S278 agreement), as well as private road and access designs to meet the various industry regulations. Our highways designs incorporate detailed general arrangements, horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, highway drainage design as well as road markings & traffic signs plans.
Highway construction details are prepared in accordance with the local Highway Authority’s Specification or DMRB with due regard to site specific ground conditions, planning constraints and architectural layouts.
We utilise the latest vehicle swept path analysis software to inform and test development layouts with the site relevant vehicle types, checking both horizontal and vertical constraints.

Earthworks Modelling
Upfront feasibility earthworks modelling work can maximise a sites development potential. We use the latest PDS 3D design software to carry out a cut/fill model. We can optimise earthworks solutions to secure the re-use of site won materials to reduce and avoid costly import and disposal. This becomes very important to clients where contaminated material will incur additional disposal costs.
We can provide the Client with a material volume assessment for their site. Whether for a one off dwelling or large residential or commercial project, we have the expertise needed to design the best earthworks solution.
Structural Engineering Design
Our team of engineers have experience in all building types and materials including timber, masonry, steel and concrete. We use cost-effective engineering solutions along with the latest analysis techniques to achieve the design brief. We believe our project success is driven by a close relationship with the design team, providing continued support on site and temporary works solutions where required.

Structural Surveying
We undertake structural surveys and inspections on all structural forms and materials including masonry, timber, concrete and steel. From new builds to conservation projects we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in surveys and can produce brief or comprehensive structural reports to suit the client.
