JRC Consulting Engineers Ltd is a civil engineering consultancy which has been formed out of a desire to provide bespoke, pragmatic and trusted infrastructure design solutions to both the commercial and private sectors.

Our reputable team individually have over 15 years of experience in delivering projects to the highest design standards, on-time and within budget. Our projects vary in size from individual domestic projects to developments with an overall contract value of in excess of £40m. John Curtis


John is the founding Director of JRC Consulting Engineers Ltd, having gained 18 years’ experience both on site as a setting out Engineer and later within the warmth of the design office. He has a degree in Civil Engineering and is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. John established JRC Consulting Engineers Ltd in 2016 with the desire to establish a reputable firm which operated with an ethical and supportive approach delivering bespoke and pragmatic infrastructure solutions.

John is a ‘hands on’ Director and Engineer, whilst managing the day to day running of the firm, he is also proficient in the use of the finite 3D highways and drainage modelling software we carry and therefore still heavily involved at the ‘coal face’ of the design within the office. In his spare time John is a family man enjoying water sports and just being in the outdoors.


Tim Rivett


Tim became a Director of JRC Consulting Engineers in 2017 having established a strong working relationship with the company through providing design and drafting sub consultancy services through his own company. During his 21 years’ experience in civil engineering he has gained a breadth of knowledge in both Structural Engineering before transitioning into Infrastructure in more recent years. He is a Member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Having started his career as an apprentice Tim is an approachable Director and Engineer, and enjoys passing on his experience to the more junior members of the team.

He oversees the drawing output for the office, ensuring that our “product” continuously maintains high standards. When not working Tim enjoys time with his growing family, socialising, whilst attempting to keep fit having now hung his boots up after 25 years of playing competitive football. If anyone requires any home gym equipment please feel free to contact him, as he has plenty barely used pieces currently stored in his garage!


Matthew Lake

Civil Engineering Technician

Matthew is a Civil Engineering Technician with 10 years’ experience in the industry having worked with Devon County Council, Mott Macdonald and Capita Symonds. Matthew is extremely proficient in CAD and assists with the delivery of our drawing packages as well as guiding our more junior staff. In his spare time Matt enjoys swimming, cycling and a smash at squash.


Jack Llewellyn-Dare

Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician

Jack joined JRC Consulting in 2016 as an Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician. Jack has quickly picked up an efficiency in the use of AutoCAD and assists with the delivery of our drawing packages and undertakes our drawing administrative duties. Outside of work and education, Jack enjoys walking, having completed the Ten Tors Challenge, computer programming and cars.


Jon Coot

Senior Civil Engineer

Jon joined JRC Consulting in 2017 as a Senior Civil Engineer. He has over 17 years’ experience, much of which was initially gained within Structural Engineering before more recently focusing on Civil Engineering. He is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
When Jon is not working he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, he also has a passion for photography and exploring the great outdoors. He can sometimes be seen playing with steam trains, both full sized and models!


Harry O’Dwyer

Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician

Harry is an Apprentice Civil Engineering Technician who joined the team in 2017. Seeing his Father working in the industry, Harry has shown an interest in engineering and would like to follow in his footsteps. In his spare time Harry likes to keep fit, he regularly plays football and cricket competitively, and is also a keen cyclist. When not keeping fit Harry enjoys socialising with his family and friends.
